Graphite Files

Merge PDF

Combine several PDF files into one, in the order you choose.

Drop PDF files here

Add two or more PDFs, put them in order, then merge.

Files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use

Drop two or more PDF files on the box or choose them with the button. Each file shows its page count once it has been read.

Put the files in order by dragging the handle or with the up and down buttons. The pages inside each file keep their order.

Press Merge, then download merged.pdf. Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and image quality does not change.

Password protected PDFs cannot be merged. Unlock them in your PDF reader first, then add the unlocked copy.

FAQ

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. The files are read and merged in your browser with the open source pdf-lib library, and they are not sent to a server.

Can I merge password protected PDFs?

No. Encrypted PDFs, including ones that open without a password but restrict editing, are marked and left out. Save an unprotected copy, for example with your reader's print to PDF option, and add that copy.

Is there a limit on files or pages?

There is no set limit. Files are read one at a time and the merged file is built in memory, so the practical limit depends on your device.

Are bookmarks and form fields kept?

Page content and web links are copied. The bookmark outline is not carried over, and fillable form fields may stop working in the merged file.

Does merging reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied without re-rendering or re-compression, so text stays sharp and searchable.
