Graphite Files

Split PDF

Extract page ranges into a new PDF, or split every page into its own file.

Drop a PDF file here

One PDF at a time. Pick pages to keep, or split every page into its own file.

Files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use

Drop one PDF on the box or choose it with the button. The tool reads the file and shows how many pages it has.

To extract pages, type them with commas, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. A range like 8- runs to the last page. The new PDF follows the order you type, so 3, 1, 2 also reorders pages.

Mistakes are shown as you type, such as a page number past the end of the file. Press Extract pages, then download the new PDF.

To split every page, choose Split every page. Download all pages in one go, or press a page number to save just that page. Your browser may ask once to allow multiple downloads.

FAQ

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and split in your browser with the open source pdf-lib library, and it is not sent to a server.

How do I remove pages from a PDF?

Extract the pages you want to keep. For a 10 page file without page 4, type 1-3, 5-10.

Why does my browser ask about multiple downloads?

Splitting every page saves one file per page, and browsers ask before a site saves several files in a row. Allow it once and the remaining pages download.

Can I split a password protected PDF?

No. Encrypted PDFs cannot be opened by the tool. Save an unlocked copy from your PDF reader and try again.

Do the split files keep text and quality?

Yes. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Each file carries the fonts and images its page uses, so the split files together can be larger than the original.
